dead format project not dead

Hello,

Just want everyone to know that The Project is not dead. We are simply lazy schlubs, nothing more.

Some things are on the horizon. We are planning an event in November to be held at the illustrious Northern Lights tavern in New Center. Food, local noise and previously-loved CDs for sale to benefit Detroit Reads!, the literacy program at the Detroit Public Library. Very exciting. Check back for details on that.

And we hope to soon be selling CDs on this site, with proceeds of course to benefit our charity partners. If I can just figure out how to install the dadburned shopping cart…

Thanks for checking in.

Baar Bazaar 2011

The Dead Format Project is once again participating in the annual Holiday Baar Bazaar at the Majestic Theater in Detroit at 8pm on Saturday, 17 December. Quirky crafts, used records and CD’s, new and vintage clothing, comic books, retro toys, books, instruments, bath and body products, jewelry and a whole lot more are to be found at this  festive, home-grown market.

As usual, The Project will be featuring previously-owned CD’s, available for a donation of $5 per disc. All the proceeds will benefit Forgotten Harvest, an organization fighting hunger in Metropolitan Detroit.

Come out for live music by Revoir and Jesse & The Gnome and enjoy a holiday libation. And buy a CD from us… it’s great music for a great cause.

Some press in Real Detroit

Real Detroit Weekly did The Project a nice little solid in their 7 Days in Detroit section.

Baar Bazaar a Success!

Thanks to everyone who visited the Dead Format table at this year’s Baar Bazaar. You helped us raise $235 for the Detroit Reads! adult literacy program at the Detroit Public Library.

The Bazaar was a lot of fun. There were crafty crafts and cool collectibles galore, as well as music by Detroit Perfect and Filter. We had fun hanging out and meeting everybody who came by.  Thanks again and look for our next event probably in March.

Thanks for Coming Out!

The Project raised $620 for Urban Arts this past Wednesday night!

Our inaugural event was a big success, thanks to all who came out. Jenna and Dale played a great set and Scarlet Oaks was a revelation. Many thanks to the bands for bringing it in support of arts education. Thanks also to Club Bart for their hospitality.

Look for our next event coming in August. In the meantime, follow us on Twitter @deadfrmtprjct.

Thanks again to everyone!
